1. We are one of the leading academic sixth form colleges in the country

We enjoy a national reputation for outstanding teaching and learning as well as outstanding results.  The college is regularly ranked as one of the top colleges in the country in terms of academic results and is formally recognised as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. Every year about a third of our students go on to attend the prestigious Russell Group of universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.

2. We have a proven record of success when teaching international students

Having very successfully recruited and taught students from countries including China, South Korea, Dubai, Russia, Nigeria and Zambia we are now looking forward to recruiting more students for September 2015.

3. Excellent academic results

In 2014 the college maintained its position as one of the very best in the country with an overall A level pass rate of 99.1%. 60% of all grades achieved were A*, A or B and 34% of students achieved ABB or higher and 100% pass rates in 35 subjects. About one third of all students leaving King Edward’s join a Russell Group university, including an increasing number who successfully apply to either Oxford or Cambridge.

4. Outstanding pastoral support

Our outstanding pastoral care underpins the whole student experience. A dedicated member of staff works closely with all international students, ensuring all the support and expertise needed for international students to achieve their full potential is in place and fully accessed.

5. A 'home' from 'home'

We are proud that we don't offer accommodation in international halls of residence. It might seem daunting not being with lots of other students from your own country - as many other international schools in the UK offer - however we know that placing you with a carefully selected family will help you settle in quickly, develop a much better awareness of the British culture and way of life, and really improve your English.

Students we place really do become 'one of the family' so you can rest assured your stay will be memorable and an event you will cherish throughout later life. We are very grateful to all our host families for the wonderful service they provide, most of our families have either sent or hope to send their children to our college.

6. Additional support when you need it

In addition to your Personal Tutor, our International Tutor is available to offer support and guidance on a range of issues from setting up your UK bank account to helping with decisions about UK universities.

8. A dedicated series of trips and visits for our international students

Our international student mentors will help you create bank accounts and get to know the local area whilst Peter Shelley, our International Student Officer, arranges a wealth of activities from welcome meals to trips out to some of the top UK tourist attractions. From Harry Potter to Manchester United, a top show in London's West End and a visit to the birth place of Shakespeare, plus lots of top UK shops! He also arranges places on trips to Oxford or Cambridge University for international students considering applying to these institutions.

9. A great community feel and a welcoming environment

We are a fairly small College with almost 2000 talented and hard-working students all located on one campus. The community feel of our College is strengthened by the fact that we only offer full-time courses and all students are of a similar age.

10. Excellent value for money and conveniently located

We are situated just a few minutes from Stourbridge bus and train stations with excellent transport links to Birmingham (15 miles). The surrounding area includes outstanding countryside and significant historical sites yet accommodation costs are cheaper than in many parts of the UK, meaning an outstanding education can be provided at an affordable price.
