In recognition of the outstanding achievements of our students, King Edward’s has scooped £1.2m toward the cost of our new, purpose built £3.5 block.  Following hot on the heels of our new £1.3m teaching block, opening in September 2013, phase 2 of this ambitious multi-million development will open in 2014.

Students will be able to relax and socialise in large modern dining area whilst taking advantage of a wealth of study space. In addition, the new block will include a dedicated computer and graphics suite, and a state-of-the-art studio for dance and drama on the part of the campus fronting Coventry Street. These facilities will ensure our students continue to benefit from the highest quality resources and learning environments.

The new two story development will be brick built to match existing college buildings and, in keeping with the rest of the campus, be fully Wi-Fi enabled.

Principal Sharon Phillips said: "We are conscious we don't want to dwarf all the surroundings but I would imagine it will make a significant improvement to the impression Stourbridge creates from the ring road."

Meanwhile the college's new £1.3m maths block is taking shape, with work on the old De Saulles warehouse site, fronting St John’s Road, due to be finished in June.

The new state-of-the-art two-storey development will comprise seven classrooms, a staff room, reception area and student facilities.
