King Edward VI College, one of the UK’s top performing sixth form colleges, celebrated the completion of their new multi-million pound student facility with a visit by Ning Chang and Wenhong Li, co-founders of EduExcellence Consulting Services Ltd, a consultancy which specializes in placing highflying Chinese students to top state schools in the UK for A level education, before entering prestigious universities.

Commenting on the emerging strategic partnership, CollegePrincipal Sharon Phillips said she was “delighted to be working with EduExcellence” in what she hoped would become an “established pathway for Chinese learners aspiring to Oxford, Cambridge, and other Russell Group universities.”

Despite the college already being over-subscribed Peter Gray, Director of Admissions, explained that “a mutually agreed number of student places have been reserved for Chinese students studying at a preparatory school in Shanghai, besides students to be recruited by EduExcellence via other channels,  who wish to join the college in September 2015 pending suitable academic results and a good performance during their interview”.

King Edward VI College is one of several state run sixth forms selected to work alongside EduExcellence on this endeavour. Together the organisations aim to provide outstanding educational opportunities for the coming Chinese students, who will also benefit from a cultural and linguistic perspective by living with a caring local family during their study in King Edward VI College.

During the meeting students Jingyi Wang and Wanyu Ma explained the progressions they have made from both an academic and a personal development aspect, since joining King Edward’s from the provinces of Shanxi and Liaoning in September 2014. Jingyi discussed how, since joining the college in September, she has won a competition to spend a week with a prestigious law firm and is now finalising another valuable work experience opportunity assisting in the office of Margot James MP (Member of Parliament) on the lead up to the UK’s general election in 2015.
