Following on from our formal prize evening last week, on Tuesday 19 November the College held a more informal commendations event for students who had made outstanding contributions and effort in the first eight weeks of the Autumn term.

Chair of Governors, John Hodt, gave out certificates and prizes to 18 students who had either made significant progress in subject areas or had made significant contributions to the College community.

Congratulations go to the following students:

Tom Morris - Excellent attendance and contribution to Business lessons and great support on open day

Niamh Chambers - Exceptional achievement and excellent contributions in class for Religious Studies in the first half term

Karanpreet Singh - Outstanding start in Economics and already achieving target grade

Michael Betteridge - Started P.E. course late but attended every workshop and achieved target grade after a double unit test

Gracie Edmonds - Made an excellent start to the Drama course. Good baseline assessment and some mature performances in class

Luke Howdle - Outstanding student, capable, intelligent and engaged in the Film Studies subject

Sufyan Gaspar - Very dedicated, completes lots of extra work in Further Maths with good test results and excellent contribution to open events

Ben Lawrence - Very hard working in Mathematics, mature and committed to studies with a score of 100% on recent assessment

Sam Lester - Evaluative mind-set and an inquisitive nature which are the perfect combination for achieving success in Geography

Mya Bajway - Outstanding start to the year with some excellent presentation work and 100% attendance in Media Studies

Ethan Stringer - Excellent start in History. Highly engaged in lessons, great contributions to discussions and outstanding subject ambassador

Mariam Niaz - Excellent progress and work ethic in Art and has produced an exemplary sketchbook for year 12

Iffah Rehman - Exceptional start to A level Art History in a year and excellent progress with PSP

Rachel Howles - Outstanding and sustained level of effort in Geography resulting in continuous A* level assessment grades

Sophie Garbett - Excellent attitude and care for the college community and campus

Willow Markham - Rebecca McManus award for Poetry - First prize

Deena Rana - Excellent attendance and great ambassador of Aspire programme

Bethany Sheppard - Great support and encouragement as an Aspire programme ambassador
