Last week, some of our hardworking students were recognised for their contribution to the college at our termly commendation awards. The event took place on Tuesday 29th November, when the students, who were nominated by their subject teachers and curriculum leaders, gathered in the Foley building to celebrate their achievements.

Students were nominated for their hard work in a range of subjects for excellent progress, achievement and contribution to their subject area or for their services to the college as a whole. In addition, George Bate (Redhill) was presented with the Rebecca McManus Award as the winner of the annual poetry competition.

The students that received a commendation were:

  • George Bate (Redhill)
  • Caine Bunn (Ridgewood)
  • Georgia Durham (Windsor)
  • Chris Hall (Earls)
  • Amelia Hetherington (Lordswood Girls)
  • Barry Hu (International student)
  • Huw Morrey (North Bromsgrove)

It wasn't only the students that received well-deserved recognition; through our first ever staff commendations, a teacher and a member of support staff were also presented with a commendation award. Subject Leader for Business, Dean West, received an award for repeatedly stepping into the breach during difficult times and always being positive and kind, whereas Caretaker Craig Randle was commended for always being willing to help in a friendly, cooperative and 'can do' manner.

Congratulations to all of our commendation award winners!
